Maybe I need to listen to the whole tracks, but I found this really painful. I like Madonna, I'm trying not to be biased. But I found this sounding smothered in fingerprints of Timbaland (yuck), to me it sound liked something that might have been great in 2003. I doubt I'll be buying this album.

I gotta say...I agree with the tracks that you seemed to like, but also dig the last two tracks. There is something "old school Madonna" in her voice - a bit of "Dear Jessie" from her Like a Prayer album. Thanks for the preview!

Great album I think, I think Beat Goes On steals the spotlight! I also think that you should give Heartbeat more credits, she really deserves something more. Anyway, thanks for posting the preview!

Like Jasen, I also like "Devil Wouldn't Recognise You" and "Voices". After listening to the previews, I can't say I'm quite thrilled to have Madonna cross into hip-hop. Hopefully the full album will change my mind.
Thanks 4 sharing S&A.

After a few listens, "Spanish Lesson" is prolly the worst song in the album.
Loving "Devil", "Give it 2 Me", "Miles Away" and "Dance Tonight" more and more. "Beat goes on" is BRILLIANT!!!
Candy Store, Heartbeat, She is not Me, Incredible - are just OK.

I like Heartbeat and Miles Away and, after listening to what's on the rest of the album, I can see why she picked 4 Minutes as the single (it's the most commercial song). It would be nice if she could, for one album, stop writing songs herself. She's not a particularly-talented lyricist and her typically simple lyrics kinda drown out the new sound. Her lyrics are good for good singles, but they can be dull on a full-length album. If she wants to make great music, and not formulaic Madonna music, she needs to let someone else write the songs for a change (and not merely co-write them). But, of course, that means giving up song-writing credit and money, so that's not going to happen.
